A dislike painting

I've been working a lot on my drawings this year, however my new paintings aren't my favorite ones. For this new article I wanted to share with you my painting that I identify the least with and explain to you why.

This is a painting of my dear friend, Tara. My idea was to represent her as I know her and how I see her in my head, which is not that easy.
Her skin had to be made of roses, to represent her delicacy, so I searched in magazines for different pictures of roses. I don't know why but I also wanted to make her hair blue which looks horrible to me now.
I really didn't know what to do with the background because the character is already full of colors, which represents Tara perfectly as she is a girl with a lot of energy, she always make me feel like she is an explosion of colors. However, the background needed to be dreamy but also blurry to incorporate her problems so I just took white paint on my fingers and I tapped the background with it. After that, I just wrote some of Tara's favorites quotes. I really dislike this painting because I feel like it's too heavy. Also I feel like it would be better if I did the opposite, a really colorful background with softer color on Tara. This painting should represent a girl in the prime of life, dreaming about the type of life she wants but on the other hand, a girl who is scared about her future, about work and love. She is singing, trying to forget about what hurt her around her. I hope you enjoyed this article guys, don't forget to share it and give me your opinion ! Bisous bisous Edited by Faye Bardi
